Atahualpa Ovalles is a Venezuelan musician who decided to emigrate out of the country due to the political, economic and social issues that are happening in this place. His lyrics mainly communicate about the current immigration crisis in Venezuela. With that in mind, I decided to use as an inspiration, different icons that are now reminders of the struggle that many Venezuelan immigrants have gone through. Some of them are the colours of the Venezuelan flag and a mosaic made by the artist Carlos Cruz Diez´s situated in the national airport in Maiquetia. I have also included a collage made out of the immigration documents that he collected through his journey.
